Universal Declaration of Hemp
Whereas humanity has long sought sustainable solutions to pressing global challenges, such as climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation;
Whereas industrial hemp, a versatile plant species, has been cultivated for millennia for its diverse applications, including textiles, paper, food, and medicine;
Whereas the potential of hemp to address these challenges has been unjustly hindered by outdated and misguided policies;
Whereas the scientific community has made significant strides in unlocking the full potential of hemp, particularly in the fields of materials science and biotechnology;
Now, therefore, we, the undersigned, declare the following:
- The Right to Hemp: All nations and individuals have the right to cultivate, process, and utilize industrial hemp without undue restrictions or prohibitions.
- The Right to Research: Governments should support and encourage scientific research into the cultivation, processing, and applications of industrial hemp.
- The Right to Sustainable Development: Hemp should be recognized as a key component of sustainable agriculture and industrial practices.
- The Right to Economic Opportunity: The cultivation and processing of hemp should be promoted as a source of economic growth and job creation.
- The Right to Environmental Protection: Hemp should be utilized as a tool for environmental restoration and conservation.
We call upon governments, businesses, and individuals worldwide to embrace the potential of hemp and to work together to create a more sustainable and prosperous future.
